Provide Public Testimony for City Council Meetings

Verbal Public Comments can be provided by attending in-person or by calling into the City Council Meeting through the Zoom video or teleconferencing options listed below. Verbal public comments will be limited to 5 minutes unless otherwise approved by the body.

Virtual Participation Verbal Public Comments

To connect to the City Council Meeting through Zoom video or teleconferencing, you can click on the Zoom link, or the telephone numbers provided on the Meeting Agenda (to the right of the meeting title you will see a Files Download option, download the agenda to view the meeting details) be sure to take note of the Meeting ID and Passcode also provided on the agenda. When joining the meeting, each caller must be muted, you may need to press *6 to mute and unmute your line. When providing verbal public comment through virtual participation, please make sure to mute the other devices you may be using to listen to or watch the meeting.

Prior to the start of the meeting, the City Clerk's Office will ask those participating virtually, that are interested in providing public comment, to provide their name which will be added to the People to be Heard Register. During the People to be Heard portion of the meeting, the mayor will call the names listed on the Register. Those registered should then unmute their line and provide their Verbal Public Comment.

Written Public Comment in Advance of the City Council Meeting

Written public comments for City Council Meetings, will be accepted by completing the Written Public Comment Form.

Suppose your comments are submitted at least 24 hours prior to the start of the meeting. In that case, your comments will be distributed to the City Council prior to the council meeting, posted on the City's website under Submitted Written Public Comment, and held as part of the meeting record but not read aloud at the meeting. Public comments shall be limited to 650 words and shall be in accordance with BMC 2.04.080. Written Public Comments not in accordance with BMC 2.04.080 may be determined out of order and not held as part of the meeting record.
