(I came to know you outside the bounds of how I have always known you.) Crystalized trees etched upon the sky |
That passed
As the bright sun
Moved by
Casting light
Leaving dark
And in emptiness
Making my mark
- Mary O. Fumento, 2013
Glorious moon:
Rising from the horizon,
Shining through
The still naked branches
Of trees awaiting
Their spring leaves.
Her reflective beauty;
Not intrinsic.
Like beauty of pearl
Or diamond or opal,
All which glow only
When light passes through.
Or when Light is reflected
From them. Their beauty truly
In the eye of the beholder.
We see, therefore,
We are.
- Mary O. Fumento, 2012
I'm a you and you're a you
But together we're a we
And you as you, me as me
May be the best we can ever be
But I think not, and just know
That we should try and see...
What grows in time, when nurtured
Just like an itty, bitty tree
Can be better than best, or better yet
An abundance of sheer possibility
- Mary O. Fumento, 2012
