Solomon Lange (born July 23, ) is a Nigerian songwriter, gospel singer and a motivational speaker.[1]
Early life and education
Solomon Lange was born in Wasa Station, Sanga, southernKaduna State, Nigeria to John and Theresa Lange. He began his education pursuit at Local Education Authority (LEA) primary school, Kaduna and on conclusion of O-level, proceeded to Kaduna Polytechnic where he studied Mass Communication. He wedded Flora Lange on May 2, at M&M event center in Abuja, Nigeria.
Musical career
Solomon began singing at the age of 9 at the local Baptist church choir at home. He however entered into the industry professionally in when he joined a small gospel music band called "Kale Visions Ministry" in Kaduna, from whence he ministered musically, nationwide. In , he began the "Zion Music Ministry", a music group and subsequently left to begin singing alone in
In , he released an album title, "Nagode" and another titled "Alheri" in
In , he began his own record label, "Insota", an acronym representing Inspiration of the Almighty. Prior to that, he belonged to none.[2]
His sing "Yabo" got nominated for an award in the Nigeria Music Video Awards (NMVA) in October [3]
In the same October , Lange's song, "Yabo" out of over gospel music videos submitted by various Nigerian Gospel Music Artists at home and abroad got nominated in the Nigeria Gospel Music Video Awards (NGMVA) held live on the 30th of November, at the prestigious Main Auditorium, University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos State, Nigeria under the SPECIAL AWARD SEGMENT for BEST MUSIC VIDEO AWARD (PASTOR PAUL ADEFARASIN SPECIAL AWARD) and in the Producer Segment, Squareball, also got nominated for Best Music Video Editor and Best Music Video Cinematographer awards for the same song.[4]
In the Crystal Awards , themed “The Take Over”, held at the Shell hall of MUSON centre, Lagos, Nigeria on Sunday, June 20, Lange was nominated for the Best Male Vocalist category, which was won by Frank Edwards.[5]
In the same year, Lange was nominated in the Music And Entertainment Gospel Awards (MEGA) for the ARTISTE OF THE YEAR award, won by Nathan Akiremi ("FLO"). He was also nominated for the BEST VOCALIST (Male) award also win by FLO; BEST REGGAE SONG, won by SALMPLUS; BEST PRAISE SONG for his song "Alheri", won by FLO; BEST WORSHIP SONG for his song "Messiah"; and BEST SONG IN HAUSA for his song "Nagode", won by Grace Jerry.[6]
Over the years, he collaborated with both Nigerian and globally reknowned musicians such as 'DA' TRUTH, Donnie McClurkin, Panam Percy Paul, Judy Jacobs, Micah Stampley, Ron Kenoly, Sammie Okposo.[2]
