Ram Achanta is a leading producer in the Tollywood Industry. He is known for his production company ‘14 Reels.’ With a dozen of films to his credit, Ram Achanta is a growing producer for the silver screen. He started a private entertainment production and distribution unit named 14 Reels in collaboration with his brother ‘Gopichand Achanta’ and ‘Anil Sunkara’. This Indian film company was set up in 2009 at Hyderabad. Today, 14 Reels is synonymous with Telugu cinema with the trio- Ram, Gopi, and Anil.

The first movie by Ram as a producer was the ‘Daggubati Venkatesh’ starrer “Namo Venkatesh” released in 2010. It was the unit’s first project soon after its formation. It was in association with Suresh Productions. This movie was a Box-Office hit. It was appraised due its comedy flavor and unique storyline. It was centered on the leads Venkatesh and ‘Trisha Krishnan’. Their next venture was an Action comedy film “Dookudu” in 2011. It was written and directed by ‘Srinu Vaitla’. ‘Mahesh Babu’ and ‘Samantha Ruth Prabhu’ were the lead actors. This movie can be called as the best one for them so far due to the efforts of Ram and his group. It was the first Telugu film to have such a grand opening. It was a blockbuster hit and collected a hefty amount at the box office. Moreover, it also won 6 Awards at the Filmfare Awards.

In 2012, Ram was the executive producer for the short thriller film ‘The Unknown.’ In 2014, Ram and his unit, 14 Reels came up with their next movie “1- Nenokkadine,” directed by ‘Sukumar’. It once again had Mahesh babu as the lead and ‘Kriti Sanon’ was the lead actress. It was a revenge story of a Rockstar. Nenokkadine was one of the first Telugu film to be dubbed in multiple languages. On its release, it was all over the news for releasing in 1500 screens worldwide.  According to the trio, it was filmed with different experience that would leave the audience wanting for more. The movie was one of its kind. With each passing year, 14 Reels was gaining hits. The same year, the next release was “Legend”, an action-packed film. Following this, came the Kannada movie “Power” starring ‘Puneeth Rajkumar’ and Trisha.

Next release was “Aagadu” based on an encounter specialist. The latest release by 14 reels is the movie “Krishna Gaadi Veera Prema Gaadha” (KVPG). This unit also has a distribution of films under it. Films such as ‘Endukante Premanta,’ ’Eega’, ‘Tuneega Tuneega’, ‘Andala Rakshasi’ were distributed overseas. Lately, it was rumored that the trio of 14 reels is heading towards separation after losses incurred by their flop movie- Aagadu.
